Summary

Saymundo: Spanish for Travel is a phrasebook app for beginners and travellers who want to be more comfortable using Spanish. The app is easy to navigate and the content is organized into two tabs: Practical and Basics, with interactive tools to help you learn and practise. The Practical tab focuses on real travel situations—hotels, shops, excursions, restaurants—giving you essential phrases and vocabulary that you’ll likely need while traveling in Spain. You can quickly find phrases without having to work through a full language course first. Every topic includes a Conversation section with useful dialogues and audio, a Words section, with essential vocabulary, and a Practice section with flashcards and quizzes to test you. The Basics tab covers commonly used vocabulary that you can use for basic communication, getting around, and more. Interactive tools are included for numbers, dates and times, so you can enter a number to instantly see and hear how it’s said in Spanish, or use the clock and calendar to learn different times and dates.

Saymundo works offline, so you can keep learning without relying on an internet connection. You’ll have access to some of the content for free without ads or recurring subscriptions, but if you want to learn more, Saymundo offers a one-time purchase that unlocks full access to all the available content. The app is currently unavailable in the US and only focuses on Spanish as spoken in Spain.
If you want to learn Spanish more seriously, you’ll need a more complete and comprehensive language resource than Saymundo. For a trip to Spain, though, its is a helpful tool to learn what you’re most likely to use during your trip.
